Loc Love Week Honorable Mention: Jasmine Vaughan

Although LOC LOVE WEEK is over we decided to celebrate ONE MORE of our loc'd sisters as an honorable mentioned! Her story was too good to pass up!
Ladies and Gents,
Jasmine Vaughan.
Enjoy!

I decided to go natural numerous times before I finally committed. Somehow I always ended up straightening my hair frequently or finding my way back to the creamy crack.
My final attempt was December 20, 2011 when I did the big chop and started my locks in the same day. I'm a firm believer in "when a girl chops off her hair, she's ready for change" and I can definitely say that I changed my life for the better. When I cut my hair I shed a lot of negativity in my life and I almost believe that a new person was born.
People in general (co-workers, family, friends and strangers alike) all question my decision in breaking conformity. It's almost been 2 years and my response never changes, "I wanted to be a queen." The best advice I can give to anyone in limbo about transitioning is to love yourself.
People will most certainly talk and many won't understand, but at he end if the day if you can be happy with your own decision then no one  else's approval is necessary. It definitely shows a sense of courage and beauty. If you got it, flaunt it!!!!! Go for it!!!!!
