KINKY TALES: NOTHING BUT HEAD by Tai Re'Nai

STYLING AND PROFILING

You's a bad mother … SHUT YOUR MOUTH! I'm just talking about hair y'all geesh.

SO your lost and frustrated? Running out of ideas for your hair? Don't know how to style it or what products to use? WELL, I have some great tips, ideas and tricks for you! Being natural allows you to do so many different styles, so do not be afraid to step outside of the box. Lets start talking styles and more styles.

THE TWIST OUT

Now, you can never go wrong with a banging twist-out. You have the right products, a good stretched out style and some great definition you will be walking around looking FIERCE HONEY! Before I do my twist-out I like to do it on freshly washed hair and then cool dry it out into a fro. I love a big stretched out style so I do my twist on blow dried hair to get that big and full of body effect. My go to twisting products are the 'My Honey Child Buttery Soy'. This product is the truth right here boy! The definition that this butter gives my hair is amazing! It also leaves my hair feeling soft and fluffy like cotton balls. My next go to styling agent will have to be the 'Cantu Shea Butter Pomade'. This product is exactly what it says a pomade. When I add this to my hair a little definitely goes a long way. It adds shine, softens and defines my twist. This is a great product to hold definition throughout the day. My last favorite styling agent is actually something very simple just some whipped up shea butter into my favorite oils. Now this is one of the cheapest ways to go when styling your hair with homemade products then store brought. The whipped shea butter leaves my hair with great moisture. It softness and gives great definition. It is also easy to make I will leave videos below to show you how to pull off a great twist-out.

THE BANTU KNOT

Now you want curls or your transitioning and need your permed ends to blend in with the natural then this style is calling your name! Bantu knots are the perfect style to rock on the go and even better when its time to let them down! All a bantu knot is, is a finger coil rolled into a knot. All you need are your favorite styling products and maybe some flat tip bobby-pins. You can bantu on wet or dry hair. Now, if you style on wet hair you want to make sure you give your hair time to dry.  So if you want to wear this the next day make sure you have a dryer to sit under or give yourself time to let it dry. This is a great and easy style to do yourself.

THE WASH AND GO

The wash and go is exactly what it says you wash and you go. One of the best styles for my natural ladies rocking their TWA(teeny weeny afro) and just a regular everyday style. Now, some of us know how hard it is to get that perfect wash and go. You have to just keep messing with it until you find the right products and utensils. To achieve a wash and go you need a good leave-in, a curling jelly/pudding/gel etc. a great detangling agent and clips. You also want to have a wide tooth comb and a denman brush. Still need to see how to get the perfect wash and go? Take a look down

THE MARLEY BUN

This is one of my ALL TIME favorite go to styles since I've been natural. This is a great look to wear any time of the day or night. So you can go from day time to night time with this hair style. The Marley hair also blends in with your natural hair so you can never go wrong. You can rock this style whether natural or transitioning. All you need are 2 packs of Marley hair depending on how subtle or dramatic your going, gel, bobby-pins and hair ties. You may want to have a numerous amount of bobby-pins by you so that bun can be secure honey! You do not want it to fly off! Lol, but no I'm serious there is no limit of bobby-pin usage with this style.

TIP OF THE DAY TO MAINTAINING HEALTHY TRESSES
Make sure after any style you lock in that moisture! Moisture is very important to your hair so make sure you LOCK IT IN! You can seal your moisture in with an oil of your choice. My favorite sealant agents are argan, coconut, almond and black castor oil. When looking for an oil you want one that works great for you! What works for me may not for you. But make sure whatever oil you get it leaves your hair soft, shiny and full of life. REMEMBER you always want to seal in your moisture so you can prevent breakage and keep your tresses healthy. Especially the ends of your hair they need the most moisture. Until next time folks.
FOR MY TRANSITIONER'S !! IF YOU ARE DOING A TWSIT OUT MAKE SURE YOU HAVE RODS! The rods will allow your permed ends to blend in with your natural hair.

I hope I helped with some new ideas for styling that mane. Be sure to stay tuned in next tuesday for more tips and tricks from Tai Re'Nai. And remember to always keep it natural and classy beautiful people!
